Lucius
Lucius is a 3 year old black male. He has a white chest and a white smudge on his snout that's the perfect place to give him little kisses. Lucius has been off the track for only a week but has proven himself to be a perfect gentleman already. His tail never stops wagging and he looooves attention. He'll lean into you while you scratch his neck and stare lovingly up at you with his big brown eyes. He learned the dog door in a few days and is fully house trained. He loves to run and play in the yard and hops his front feet off the ground when he's happy or excited. He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home and really likes to run with them in the yard. Lucius is cat and small dog friendly

Dasani
Dasani is one-of-a-kind. You will fall in love the moment you meet her. She has the cutest little face, and the biggest spirit. She is incredibly smart, so if you are looking for a dog to train, she would be an excellent candidate.
Dasani is lazy at home, but she is ready to go when you are.
She will jog right beside you, and she could eventually develop the stamina to be an excellent running partner.
Not into running? She also loves to dance! She gets excited for dinner, and will hop up and down and spin in circles while you prepare her food.
She gets along well with the other greyhounds in her foster home, but she probably wouldn't mind being the center of attention in a one-dog home. She would rather not live with small dogs or cats.

Foxy
Stunning Black Female Statuesque 59 lbs. age: 8 yrs. young. Our adoption application asks "What is the activity level of your household?" If your answer is "extremely lazy," then we have just the dog for you! This eight year old lady won eight of her 54 races, but her work was just starting when she hung up her racing muzzle. She is now the proud mama of 19 puppies, and let's face it, she's tired! She loves a leisurely stroll around the block, and she has a good time playing with her foster-siblings, pouncing on the occasional stuffy, but for the most part, she just loves to lay around. This girl won't give you any trouble. She's not destructive, she's shown no anxiety, and she has excellent manners. All she asks is that if you're getting up, come and give her a good belly rub. Do that, and she'll love you forever. By the way, she's technically a senior, but her vet says that she's a very healthy girl, with plenty of time to enjoy a long retirement. Foxy is cat friendly!

Navy Seal
I am one curious greyhound and have settled in pretty quickly at my new foster home. Even though my foster family thinks I’m one big puppy, I am actually a four-year-old red fawn weighing 72 lbs. Some of the fun things I like to do are retrieve a raquet ball, chase a Frisbee, or run with my foster brothers and sisters in the back yard. I do enjoy a good walk and am happiest when I can find a human to pet, pet, pet me. At times, I will entertain my family by tossing a toy in the air and catching it – or engaging in a mild game of tug of war. I love anything that resembles fuzzy, which may not make me the most suitable candidate for a home with a feline resident, but I get along very well with my foster brothers and sisters. I’ve got plenty of love to offer and I am one of the sweetest greys you’ll ever meet.
|
Phantom Whim
Four-and-a-half-year-old black male weighing 73 lbs. Teacher's/Breeder's Pet. I am the sweetest grey you'll ever meet. I wiggle, waggle, and giggle with joy when receiving attention. Would love to shower you with affection as well.

Blake
‘ello,
My name is Tipp Blake and I love you. I know, we barely know each other but it’s true. And once you look into my big soft eyes you will love me too. When you watch TV I will lay at your feet, when your work on your computer I will lay beside your chair. When you sleep I will sleep in contentment, knowing I have a safe home. I feel it is only fair to tell you, I am attracted to felines, perhaps a bit too much. Also, your neighbor’s fluffy little white dog is strangely alluring to me. Perhaps you should keep me away from her. I do love other dogs though and would love to join an already established pack. I am quiet and I enjoy polite children. I am not an alpha dog but do love walks and will lead you proudly through your neighborhood. The other humans will jealous of you because let’s face it, I am taller and more beautiful than their dogs. Some people think I am a big dog, but at 79 lbs and 29” at the shoulder you will think I am just right. Black Male 3yrs. 11mo. 75lbs.

Cherry Smash
Cherry Smash is a 56-pound red fawn female with a white chest, white feet, and a white-tipped tail. The best way to describe her is sweet, sweet, sweet. Cherry Pie would be a more appropriate name for her, because she is easy as pie, and just as sweet. She crates well, gets along great with her foster brother and sister (both greyhounds), and has not shown any interest in our 3 cats. She is very calm, gentle and quiet, and gets along with children. She is shy, but is coming out of her shell little by little. She is a love and will steal your heart.

Contender
I am what you might call a one race wonder. The wonder would be, why did I go through all that schooling to run one race, come in dead last, and finish two seconds behind the winner. Let me just say that Wheeling Downs West Virginia is a lovely place to visit, but I wouldn't want to race there. From my race time, apparently not. My two and a half years of age give me plenty of time to run around your back yard playing with any small children or other animals that live there. Cats and small dogs just make it the more the merrier. I'm living with three small dogs at the moment. However, I'm rather stoic and quiet from time to time. My Foster family has been calling me "Prince". I like it and it seems to fit me rather well. I must say. My trim 69lb. red brindle male frame also compliments the new name.
|
Casaba
If you're looking for the quintessential greyhound you've come to the right place. All the dignity, reserve, and regal ness that is greyhound, is me. Although I never raced, you could never tell it by my 3 yr old 65lb.red fawn physique. Has to be 0% body fat. I'm mild mannered, sociable, lovable, and friendly with children and small dogs.
|
Maya
Red fawn female, 7 years old. I'm one "Red Hot" 64lb. Lady. I try my best to emulate the name I was given to a "T". My racing career was a good one with 92 races. The speeds I ran were fast enough to have me classified as a Grade "A" runner. There is only one grade above me and the difference is really hard to measure I'm playful, friendly, and know no strangers.

Fancy Pants

Big Buyer
Fawn w/black face - male, 2yrs old, 80lbs. "Mom, I'm Home !!! Yes folks, not only is our human family growing but the family presence of these greyt dogs is growing as well. We're more than happy to include this very huggable hunk to our greyhound family. His mom, "Outa-da-box" aka "Zoey", was one of our first Seniors helping Seniors adoptions. This strikingly handsome gentleman prefers playing with a soccer ball rather than chase that ol' lure. He's good with small dogs and can come nose to nose with the ones with claws. With no problems I must say.
|
Shortcake
21 month old female, 50 lbs. Four white socks with white neck and chest, stunningly beautiful. I decided right off that the racing life wasn't for me. It was too much work when I could lay around on a comforter. Still trying to decide on the cat issue.
|
Affinity
Affinity is 8.5yrs young and eager to relax and snuggle after spending the last few years being momma to a stunning 42 pups. Even after raising such a big fam-ily, she’s still very outgoing and playful. She would love to frolic her way through retirement with you!

Time For Me
Hello All, It's good to be home once again. My name is "Time for Me". I'm a slim red seven year old fawn female of 65lbs. I had quite a racing career of seventy-one races that started in Corpus Christi, Texas. From there I went on to Wheeling Downs, West Virginia and Gulf Greyound Park in Galveston. I was very swift and achieved a grade of "AA", there is no faster grade than that. After my career was over, I was the proud parent of seven beautiful greyt hounds. Kisses, playing tag, and running with my fellow Foster dogs are a few of my favorite things. Small dogs and cats, ALL good.

Duval - ADOPTED
Give Duval five minutes and he will steal your heart. This gorgeous brindle boy is one of the happiest hounds we've ever seen. Walk in the room and his tail wags. Talk to him and his tail wags. Just look at him... and his tail wags! He is also a total love-bug, and is looking for that special someone who will match him snuggle for snuggle. Nothing much ruffles him, and so far he seems great with children although he has not had a chance yet to interact with cats. A curious hound, Duval likes to poke his head in new places to check things out. He is quite fond of his favorite fuzzy, which he carries with him from room to room, and outside and back in again. He is smart and attentive, and has already learned to lie down on command, stay (for a cookie), and share a big bed with his foster sister Kiera. And did we mention he's GORGEOUS? You'll be the envy of the neighborhood with this stately greyhound prancing by your side. (Only you will know he's kind of a goofball. Well, and us. But we promise not to tell.)

Swinger - ADOPTED
My Greyhound.Hello, my name is Anna, I’m 9 years old and a proud owner of Swinger Pete S. He’s color is called “brindle”, which means he is black, white and brown. Swinger was born in October of 2007. In March of 2009, my dad took me to a Greyhound Meet & Greet at the annual Kite Festival in Austin, Texas where I first met Swinger. We just fell in love with each other! A couple weeks later we went to go see him again at his foster family‘s home. After that, we set up the adoption and took him home. It took a couple of days for him to get used to us, our house and our neighborhood. He is very kind and gentle around younger kids and such a lover boy. He is quite a couch potato, but also very playful at times. It takes work to keep your Greyhound healthy. You need to feed your dog, take it on daily walks, keep him or her hydrated, loved, time to itself and have a great home. It can be easy to own a Greyhound, but can also be challenging because you have to get your new dog used to different environments in and around your home. |
Secret Life - ADOPTED
Secret Life is a handsome, black brindle boy who will make a great pet. He's 2.5 years old and weighs in at a slim 65 pounds. He has bright brown eyes, happy ears and cute little white patches on his chest and feet. He has fit right in with his foster family of 2 greyhounds (one male, one female), 3 cats, many fish and 3 humans. He is cat friendly and kid friendly. Secret Life is laid back, easygoing and confident. He crates well, and loves to lay around in the sun, both indoors and out.
|
Bella - ADOPTED
Bella is a delightful 19mth old who is slowly but surely blossoming from her shyness. She enjoys shaking her stuffies, hanging out with the other greyhounds, and of course a good ol' fashioned nap on the couch. She has accumulated an eclectic collection of stuffed animals, power rangers, and pillows that she has stolen from the children to decorate her own bed. Bella absolutely adores our 4 children, but she is a bit timid around men. She doesn't bother our sheltie and has a very healthy respect for the family cat.
|
Pugsly - ADOPTED
Pugsley is a very gentle big boy (82 pounds) of about 3.5 years who interacts very well with his foster sister, Kiera. They share beds and water bowls simultaneously. He has also met a few other breeds of dogs and has behaved very well. He has seen a couple of cats on walks and hasn't shown interest and small dogs didn't seem too interesting either. But, he was on lead in both cases and more evaluation should be done. He seems to like every human he meets and has shown good manners with small children. He hasn't barked once in the week he has been here even when Kiera barks. He does terrible on wood floors and slippery linoleum. He does like to wake up early (with the sun) and doesn't seem to understand that humans like to sleep in on Saturdays and Sundays. Luckily, he will entertain himself with toys and the back yard if he can go outside. He definitely should be with other dogs, he seems to like their presence even when not playing with them. He is not bossy with them and in fact the much smaller Kiera usually gets the better of him. He is crate trained and completely housebroken. He also figured out how to use the dog door in the first day and now goes in and out as he pleases. He comes when called and knows the command, "lie down" but will only do it when there is a bed to lie on.

Heave Ho
Hi there. My name is Jessica and I am the proud Foster mommy to Heavie, aka Heave Ho. He is truly an amazing young man. He has quickly become a part our huge. loud, and chaotic family (organized chaos, that is). His new foster family includes Nitro (greyhound), Toby (golden retriever), Coco (poodle/rat terrier),Mamma (cat), Tuptim (cat), Sara (our 6-year-old daughter), Tyler (our 3-year-old son), Mom (my mother-in-law), Dad (my father-in-law), me and my husband. Whehhh……..I know. It sounds like a lot of action is going on around my house, and Heavie has done fantastically from day one. By the end of the first day, Tuptim (our cat) was sleeping next to him on a large dog bed in front of the fireplace. He also loves, loves, loves toys. He has discovered that he doesn't even need me because he can now throw them in the air and catch them himself. Coco (our poodle mix) taught him how to do that.
Nitro and Toby are almost done teaching him how to retrieve the ball. A typical night consists of Heavie curiously supervising the two crazy children as they run around screaming, crying, and throwing things everywhere. Tyler (our son) loves to give him hugs and kisses every night. I never thought I would find a dog that was as happy and calm, or has as strong of a desire to please as my past greyhounds, but Heavie is definitely that dog. He is a gentle spirit that is cautious with our young children, elderly parents, small dog, and cats, yet he still loves to play with our large dogs. I am sure you are curious to know what Heavie's downsides are. Ok, I'll give it to you straight: His tail is like a propeller that never stops. No really, it goes round and round and round and it never stops. The only other thing is that he is a typical greyhound in that he is mischievous with food and makes no apologies for it. He loves to tiptoe next to you and steal things without you seeing him, and he is very good at it. He's like a ninja. He is hilarious. Heavie is going to make a wonderful companion to a very lucky household.

Anne - ADOPTED
Anne was a sad victim of the recession. When her adopter lost his job and his home, he made the heartbreaking decision to return the girl he described as "perfect in every way." She is a 4-year old female who required minimal house-training, who loves dog beds, toys, and the finer things in life. She is extremely affectionate and playful, as well as smart. When she is excited, she runs around throwing stuffed animals into the air. She is a happy girl, but she prefers people to other dogs. We think that she should be an only dog. She did great in an apartment, and she can jog for miles. Please give this girl the second chance she deserves.

Chloe
59lb. Female with Red Fawn with a hint of Back Dusting ( Looks or has the same color pattern as a German Shepard ), age: 5 years. This retired life with a couch and a bed can become real addicting. I'm every bit the Lady and don't barge in. Not to sure on the fuzzy things that run just yet. It is a work in progress. I'm just full of love.

Mavin
Maven is a 3 year old black male. He has a rather distinguished looking face (shh, don't tell him he's gone gray already!) and has excellent house manners. He's a bit shy at first but warms up quickly. Maven is a smiler – it starts with a lopsided snarl and it goes into a full blown smile when he’s happy. Maven is very attached to his foster parents and follows them everywhere. Maven gets along well with the other greyhounds in his foster home but he prefers the company of people to dogs. Maven LOVES to play Frisbee – it’s his most favorite thing in the whole world - and he gives a mournful yowl any time the Frisbee is pulled out, almost as if to say “hurry up, I want to play!” Maven is cat and small dog tolerant.

Scooter
Scooter is a 4 year old red fawn boy with a dark mask. He is curious and smart – he learned the dog door in his foster home on his own after watching the resident hounds go in and out a few times. Scooter is eager to please and responds well to corrections. He is very gentle when taking food out of our hands and loves attention. He follows his foster parents all around the house and will camp out at their feet, content to snooze but always keeping an ear open for their next move. Scooter is very affectionate and will climb in your lap if you let him. We are not sure if Scooter is cat or small dog tolerant yet.

Abby
Style, elegance, and grace describe this 1998 edition of a red fawn racing greyhound. "Abby" is my name, but around the farm they just called me Mom. I'd say for being almost nine that my slender 68lbs. is very good, and I have the energy of a 5 year old. Kisses and tail wags come as standard features, and I love to hang out wherever you are. I have accent coloring with white toes and muzzle. Unfortunately, all those years on the farm being a mom have left me with just my 4 canine teeth. Soft food only, and no cats or small dogs, please. Could I interest you in a test visit?

Lu Lu - ADOPTED
Lu Lu is a 16 month old female. She's very petite and is white with brindle patches. Lu Lu just wasn't fast enough to make it on the track and she never raced. She decided to join the housepet track instead. Lu Lu is very sweet and gives tiny kisses to anyone who asks. She's playful and gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home. Lu Lu is very curious about all the new sights and smells in her new foster home. She has already poked her little nose into every nook and cranny at least twice. She learned the dog door on her own and seems quite smart. Stay tuned for more info on Lu Lu as her personality emerges.

Rawhide
Rawhide (racing name EZ Rawhide) is a large red brindle male. He is one of those rare greyhounds that doesn't fit the image of
what a greyhound should look like. He is 92 pounds of muscle and grins. His head is quite large, and his ears are quite small which gives him a somewhat "goofy" look. He's is a three year old red brindle, but his face is almost completely gray giving him an old wise look. But don't let looks fool you! He's a smart dog. He is looking for someone to spend time with him playing ball and going for long walks. He will come up to you when you are sitting and put his big ole head right on your chest and just look at your with huge brown eyes that plead for a head rubbing.
Rawhide does have eye allergies and takes two Benadryl a day to help with his itching. That is all he should require in the future. He's very healthy but needs some good exercise to maintain his manly figure. He's somewhat afraid of loud noises but is getting much better. He gets along with other large dogs, preferrably females. He needs a dog companion but is definitely NOT fond of small dogs, cats or small children. Rawhide is a big boy but has a big heart to match and gives his love freely.

Mandy
Mandy is a small 3 year old female, white with some faint faint fawn patches with fawn ticking. She has two fawn colored ears. She also gives kisses. Rumor has it that she was the trainers "favorite" at the track.
|
Bonnie
Bonnie is a 4 year old white and black female. More to come as Bonnie's personality emerges.
|
Clarice
Clarice is a nearly 4 year old dark brindle female. She weighs 61 pounds. Clarice has a wise, old soul look about her, but don't let that fool you - she is curious about everything and has earned herself more corrections than her younger foster housemates (nothing serious-just garden variety fresh-off-the-track things like counter surfing). The good news is that she's easily correctable - a sharp "uh-uh" is all it takes for her to slink away with that guilty dog look. Clarice discovered that the sofa is much more comfortable than any old dog bed and has spent her days there ever since (smart girl!). Clarice likes to play with stuffed toys and is very good about being groomed and having her nails trimmed. She stands still in the tub and picks her feet up for nail trims. Clarice likes belly rubs and will roll over when you walk by to entice you to give her a rub (who can resist?). She is very affectionate - she'll walk up to you for a neck scratch, and before you know it her front half has wormed its way onto your lap and she's snoring. Clarice gets along well with other greyhounds but we're not sure about small dogs, cats, or small critters yet.
|
Kelly
Kelly Berry is a lively, playful pup (she just turned two). Kelly is a red brindle and she weighs 63 pounds. She finds her crate cozy and comforting, and she likes to romp around with her greyhound friends. We think that her racing career met an early end because her true calling was stuffy throwing. She is adjusting well to living in a home. She's affectionate and true to her name, sweet like a berry. She gets along well with other greyhounds but we're not sure about small dogs, cats, or small critters yet.
|
George
George is a four year old male who is white with red brindle patches. He also has red and black ticking. George weighs 84 pounds but he is in perfect shape, not an ounce of fat on him. He is very affectionate and is elated every time his foster dad returns...from work or just taking the trash out. He gets along well with other greyhounds but we're not sure about small dogs, cats, or small critters yet.
|
Manny - ADOPTED
Manny is a two year and seven month old white male with sparse amounts of ticking. He has a dark brindle patch on his right side, by his front leg. Manny has brindle ears and most of his head is brindle. Manny is not cat friendly. Stay tuned for more details as Manny's personality emerges....
|
Percy
Percy is a 70 pound boy with beautiful golden brown eyes. Percy is sweet and affectionate and will patiently wait for his turn to be loved on. He likes to be where his humans are and will follow them from room to room. He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home and likes to run around the backyard with them, chasing and being chased. Percy has excellent house manners and he learned the dog door in just a few days. He is cat workable and he gets along well with small dogs. Percy can be quite a talker when he wants to tell you something and he gets especially excited when his foster parents wake up in the morning. Percy also smiles when he's happy.
|
Apple
Apple is an extremely energetic brindle girl. She loves to go for long walks. She will make a great running mate for a family that is committed to exercise daily. She loves to play with anything that squeaks and gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home. Apple is great with children but because of her energy level would fit best in a home with older children. She is a strong-willed dog with a mind of her own but with consistent work she was taught to sit and take her food politely. Apple is trained to relax in her crate when her family is out and to sleep at night. Apple is not a good match for a family with cats or small dogs. This beautiful young girl needs a family with lots of love and attention to give. She will be the APPLE of your eye.

Aristotle
AKA "The Kissing Bandit." You just never know when I'm gonna get you! My name is Aristotle and I'm a three year old, seventy pound boy. I'm blue brindle with a white chest and toes. I raced over sixty times at the track in Corpus Christi, Texas. Then, I decided that giving kisses and the occasional donut from Krispy Kreme was a whole lot better deal. Presently I'm residing with three other greyhounds and a borzoi. I'm doing great and my foster dad says I'm really obedient on a lead. I'm full of energy and sneak up and give kisses every time I get a chance. So, if your kissing meter is a little on the low side, give me a jingle. No cats or small dogs please.
|
Gameboy
Gameboy is a 2 year old red brindle male with a tiny little face (they called him "chipmunk face" at the racing kennel). Gameboy weighs 72 pounds. He has golden brown eyes and loves to give lots of quick little kisses (but only if you ask for them). He is a very happy boy and wags his tail quite a lot. He is one of the easiest greyhounds his foster family has ever had the pleasure of hosting - he learned their dog door in an hour and never had an accident in the house, he gets along well with the other dogs and is respectful of their space, and he is eager to please and very correctable. Gameboy likes to play with stuffed toys and runs around the house and yard tossing and shaking his stuffies. Gameboy is a bit of a watchdog, an unusual quality in a greyhound. He gets along well with both large and tiny dogs but we're not sure about cats or small critters yet.
|
Danny - ADOPTED
Danny O'Malley is a gorgeous 4 year old red fawn boy. He's a happy boy who loves to be petted and sweet talked and his tail never seems to stop wagging. Danny is smart, learns quickly, and obeys the rules of his foster home. He also gets along well with the resident cat.
|
Freddy
Freddy is just off the track and is adjusting well to home life. He's such a good boy. He's incredibly affectionate, and very sensitive, but in no way fearful. He's confident and gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home. More details to follow as Freddy's personality emerges...

Christie
Christie is a small red brindle female and is 2 years old. Her racing name was Power Overdrive.
Christie's last race was on March 17, 2007. When she first came in as a foster dog in June, she was somewhat depressed and very sad. There is a possibility she missed the racing and the excitement of the racing kennel. However, she has now come out of her "funk" and her world is wonderful again. She learned the dog door in 10 minutes, how to sit in 5. She is very curious about everything, especially the TV. She wants to please and all she asks in return is a little scratching on the tummy. Chrisite is very intelligent and might do well in obedience classes. No cats or small dogs please. |
Clown - ADOPTED
Clown is quite a striking boy. His papers say he's white with red, but he's really more of a Starbucks Mocha Light Frappuccino color. His mocha is like a saddle on his body. His head is kind of the same way and he looks like he's wearing black eyeliner. He weighs 72 pounds (average size for a male). Clown is two years and one month old.

Snappy
Snappy is just off the track but has been a perfect house guest from the minute she walked into her foster home. She loves to play with toys and it's a joy to watch her run circles in the yard while tossing toys in the air and catching them. Snappy is super smart - she learned the dog door in 5 minutes flat and you can just tell by looking at her that she's figuring things out. Snappy minds well and is very gentle and affectionate. She gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home. Her nickname is "the sidler" because she constantly sidles up next to her foster parents to see what they're doing. Snappy hops around in circles when she gets excited and has never met a stranger. Snappy is a dark red brindle and she weighs 60 pounds. We're not sure if she is small dog- or cat-friendly - test results to be posted soon.

Blaze
"Here comes, Blazin Bronx round the turn." I can hear it like it was just yesterday. Actually, it wasn't all that long ago. I came to Austin on the 21st of February. Been racing to the food bowl to keep my 76lbs slim, trim, brindle physique in shape. Not sure it's working though. Happy go lucky, unless I see a cat and then all bets are off. Small dogs are OK, though. |
Tahoe
Tahoe is a sweet little girl who never met a stranger. Her tail just wags and wags and wags all the time. She was such a good greyhound ambassador that she was adopted before we even had a chance to add her to our list of available dogs. Way to go, Tahoe!

Kenzie
Kenzie is a petite little princess who just loves people and all the attention they have to give. Her tail never stops wagging and she even smiles! Kenzie is 23 months old and is very curious about all the new things she's discovering in her foster home. Her favorite thing so far is FOOD! Kenzie gets along well with other dogs, loves children, rides well in the car, and walks well on a leash. She likes to play with stuffed animals and tennis balls and adores her foster greyhound buddy, Cappy. The two are quite a pair!

Cappy
Cappy is a beautiful 2 1/2 year old girl. She's black with white accents on her chest and toes and she has a little ridge of fur that runs right up the middle of her snout. Cappy's last race was on April 1st and she has the physique to prove it. See her pedigree and racing history here. Cappy is very playful and loves to romp and run with the other greyhounds in her foster home. |
Junior - ADOPTED
"Junior" is my name and nest building is my game. Sneaking up and giving you kisses on the back of your neck is also good too. I've even been known to play tug of war with a towel on occasion. I'm solid black and am 24mo. of age. Although not very big, I weigh 58lbs, and you know, very good things come in small packages. My Uncle was the fastest dog ever at Gulf Greyhound Park. I'd love to race in to my forever home with you.

Vanilla Ice
"Vanilla Ice" is my name, rapping is not my game. Being a real head turner with the ladies is "MY" claim to fame. My white buffed body of 72lbs. with a single fawn patch puts all the other males to shame. A Grade "A" status at the Valley Race Park, proved to all, that I was no lark. Only being three years of age will tell you, that I still have plenty of bark. Just arrived on the scene. On the subject of living with small dogs and cats however, I'm not to keen.

Secret Space
Nothing like a Texas gal. I was born, raised, and raced all in the Lone Star state. My name is "Secret Space". I am a red fawn female. Since it's not really nice to ask a lady certain things, I'll just tell ya that I'm three years old and have a smallish frame of around 55lbs. Being quick for my size got me 14 races at both Harlingen Valley Race Park and Gulf Greyhound Park. My quickest time was thirty seconds. Left all them good ole boys in the dust that day. Along the way, I lost interest in always making left turns, don't ya know. Would rather run and play with you in the back yard. Those little ones that you sometimes live with are okay but the ones that "MEOW" we'll have to work on.

Juno
Juno is a sweet 6-year old brindle female. She is a large, energetic girl who likes to play with a stuffie, run around outside, or take a nap near wherever you are hanging out. She will sit on a regular basis, and likes to put her head in your lap, if you are sitting, so you can give her lovings! Not sure yet about how she feels about cats or small dogs- an update will be coming soon!

Judy
Quite possibly the sweetest, gentlest greyhound we’ve ever met, Judy is also absolutely gorgeous, with a perfect fawn coat and pretty black details, including a thin black stripe all the way down the top of her tail. This graceful six-year-old had a good racing career, and now she is ready to offer her generous heart to a loving home. Judy is considered a ‘special needs’ girl. During the regular spaying procedure it was discovered that her ovaries were enlarged. Thankfully, all of her other organs appeared normal, but histopathology testing revealed that one ovary contained an adenocarcinoma. The doctors felt they removed the tumor cleanly and completely, and at this point she is healthy, happy, and active (she loves to go for walks and play with her foster siblings), and as far as can be determined, she is cancer free. It is hoped that this affectionate sweetheart of a hound has many years of love to give. Judy is cat and small dog friendly.

Provance
This cute three-year-old girl is sweet, spunky, and oh-so-huggable! Greyhounds are velvety, but this little (58 lbs) black beauty is one of the softest hounds we’ve ever had the pleasure to snuggle. Daughter of Tom’s the Best (the only greyhound to ever win both the English and Irish Derby), she is already living up to her regal Irish lineage—she certainly imagines herself a princess in the pack! Provance loves all the personal attention she can get, and still plays like a puppy with her squeaky toys. She’s not had a chance to interact at length with cats or young children yet, but the outlook for kids looks good. Provance is not cat or small dog friendly.

Stella
CTW More Please (Mama Smash) is a beautiful red fawn girl with white markings on her chest, all four feet and the tip of her tail. Mama was a AA racer, spent some time having puppies, and is now ready for a couch to call her own. She is super sweet, easygoing, good with kids and gets along great with her foster siblings. Her hobbies include short walks in the neighborhood, relaxing on a pile of blankets, and tossing toys around the room. She was somewhat interested in her feline foster siblings when she first arrived, but after realizing they were neither toys nor food, she decided to ignore them. Mama is 8 years young, and the mother to AGA's own Cherry Smash. She has the youthful appearance and playful energy of a girl half her age. She is on the small side and weighs in at a trim 62 pounds.

Jet to Cabbo
"Cabo" for short. Kinda makes you wonder just where these guys get names for us, doesn't it. Ah, but the kicker is, that I'm just as beautiful a female as the name of the town implies. I'm a solid white female with one spotted ear and one brindle ear. From my small two and a half year old 59lb. frame, you'd think that I could run like the wind. I can actually cover the race course in 31.04 seconds. However the winner did it in 31.00. Oops. I wasn't that big fan of Alabama anyway. I'm a Texas girl born and bread. Everybody is my friend. Still working on the intros with cats and small dogs. Some of my retired racing buddies told me AGA is where it's at. So, if you'd like to meet me, give them a call.

CTW Avon Lady
"Lady" for short, setting in the warm confines of my kennel and I get this phone call from my brother, "Accomplice". He says, "Hey sis you gotta come to Austin." Why, I ask. He says because you get free room, food, and board. All the love and affection anyone could want. On top of that, you can sleep all you want, but the best part is you don't have to chase that silly old lure anymore. Whoa, did he get my attention. Funniest thing, when I stuck my head out there was this guy there that said he'd give me a lift. So, I hopped my red fawn 59lb. female self up in his SUV so as not to get my four white feet or the tip on my tail dirty and off to Austin we went. I'm very effectionate and loving. Don't know any strangers, but not sure about cats and small dogs yet. So, if you think that you'd like to show me Austin "your" way, give AGA a call.

CTW Romper
Whew, two days ago I'd just finished my 20th race in Birmingham, Alabama and now I'm sitting in the lap of retired luxury in Austin, Texas. Whoa, what a deal. I'm a dark brindle female at the ripe old age of two. As Maxwell Smart used to say, "I missed it by that much." Although from what little I've seen of this retired life, I think I'm growing to like it real quick. Who knows, I might just loose my racing figure of 60lbs. I'm not quick to judge and take my time to evaluate everything. Not sure on the cat and small dog thing yet. But that'll come in due time. If you think that you'd like to help me along the trail of really getting used to this retirement gig, just give AGA a call.

Gobo
He's a very sweet, sensitive boy who will be content in a quiet environment. He is crazy smart and very playful in spurts. Gobo needs a companion and will fare best in a home with another dog. He tolerates children of all ages and their busy-ness well but does not like loud, unexpected noise. He has a gentle spirit and responds well to redirection from mischief. He doesn't mind being in his crate for a time-out from daily activity or for the night. He does enjoy being outside a lot. Gobo does well on a leash and enjoys sticking close on long walks. He is very polite in the house and stays off counters and furniture. He runs up & down stairs with no effort at all. Not cat or small animal tolerant!

CTW Heavenward
Heaven is a sweet, loving four year old female Greyhound who is curious about everything. She will follow you around just to see what you’re doing. Her curiosity does make her a bit of a counter surfer. She gets along well with other dogs, even a Dachshund that is sharing her foster home. She is doing well with cats, but for now should be considered Kitty Cautious. She will alert with a bark when there are strange happenings in the area. She likes a soft dog bed, is house broken, and is used to the sounds of domestic life. This beautiful white and red fawn with ticking Greyhound will make anyone a great companion.
