About Dixie

This cute, petite feisty girl retired early after a leg injury but she is all healed up and ready to play. At just 18 months old she still has a lot of puppy in her. Pouncing on stuffed animals with abandon and running laps in the back yard are two of her favorite things. She loves to rest her head in your lap for snuggling. She also likes to flop down on a soft bed, roll on her back and sleep the day away. She gets along well with other dogs but can be a bit bossy so she would do well with a submissive dog as a companion. She is also crate trained, house broken and walks well on lead. Not sure about cats or small dogs yet.

I have the most beautiful brindle markings you've every seen- like chocolate and peanut butter swirled together! I am a shy hound who prefers peace and quiet after my successful career on the track. I take some time to warm up to new people but when I do, I am a sucker for head rubs and back scratches and will gently ask you for them. My favorite place will be at your side hanging out quietly at home but I am also okay if you leave (especially if I get a Kong filled with peanut butter!). If you have a little patience with me and a peaceful house, I will reward you with a lot of sweet affection and some hilarious goofball moments.
